Learning objectives:
The series of lectures provides students with the orientation in the complex issues of the relationship between architecture and fine arts since the 1920s.
Description:
The series of lectures consists of main streams and movements, theories, representatives and works of the world architecture since the 1960s, when both systematic criticism and creative reaction to the inter-war international style of functionalism began to emerge. All the tendencies of the late 20th century will be characterized - post-modernism, the continuation of modernism, high-tech, deconstructivism etc.
Knowledge and skills required for the course:
Chapters on architecture based on the tuition of art-history on the bachelor level.
Learning outcomes and competences:
Knowledge which enables students fruitful cooperation and creative artistic dialogue with architects.
Syllabus of lectures:
Comparison of the representatives of the inter-war functionalism with their critics who gave birth to postmodernism in the 1960s. Replacement of ideological and artistic dogmas of modernism with postmodernist plurality expressed in deconstructivism, high-tech etc.
